Reaction | Sam Togwell | Guiseley

Sam Togwell shares his thoughts after Eastleigh's 1-1 draw away at Guiseley: "I think you can’t deny that the performance was ten times better than our last outing. We got on the ball more, we ran more, we were more dynamic. It was a pleasure to play in. "It’s a shame that with 20 seconds to go we couldn’t see the game out. "The new players have done well. They’ve had a hard two weeks training with us, it’s been a hard graft. It’s been tough but they’ve come in and they’ve worked their socks off and they haven’t complained. "You can see today they tried their best. Some of them haven’t played for a little bit so the longer they are here with us and playing the way the gaffer plays, the better it’s going to be. "We’re going to prepare well [for the next game] and do what we did today – go out and play football and try to dominate possession, get on the ball. We should have scored a few more goals we had good chances. I’m sure the fans can’t deny th...

Reaction | Martin Allen | Guiseley

Martin Allen shares his thoughts on Eastleigh's 1-1 draw away at Guiseley: "I thought we played very well first half, we weathered what we knew was going to be a high pressure first twenty minutes. "The new players come in and did very, very well. We got the ball down and played, and we were much better to watch. We had much more energy, which is what I was after. "It was very, very disappointing to lose that goal at the end. They had one chance in the second half I think, and maybe two in the first half.  "We had two chances just after half time, great efforts on goal especially the one by Willo (Scott Wilson) [which would have] put us out of reach at 2-0.  "They piled everybody forward, we put on another centre half to help us defend those long balls and free kicks and corners but a knock down fell and they’ve smashed it in.  "It’s a big set back, a big disappointment. This isn’t an easy place to come and play here. I thought the p...

Reda Johnson on his fitness and new role

Image
Reda Johnson is on his way back from injury and should be back out on the pitch again very soon. The commanding centre-half said: “I’m feeling a lot better so I’m happy. I’ve worked hard to come back from my injury with Cooky (physio Andy Cook) so I have to thank him for that and I’m very pleased.” Reda says that Eastleigh can expect a tough game at the weekend when the Spitfires take on Guiseley and he is looking forward to seeing what the new young lads can bring to the team. “It should be a hard game. We’ve got a lot of new players so we’re trying to bring something new and hopefully we’ll do well because we’ve got the players, we’ve got very young, talented players here and hopefully everything will go very well.” Johnson has recently taken on a new role as an ambassador to the Pan Disabiliity team here at Eastleigh and he can’t wait to get started. “I’m really looking to meeting them because it’s something I really like. I worked in the past when I was in Sheffield with ...
