Baird to keep faith with Brown
Eastleigh manager Ian Baird has stated that he is keen on retaining the services of striker Jamie Brown.
Although Brown made just ten league and cup starts for Eastleigh in 2009/10, Baird intends to keep faith with the braveheart targetman who was dogged by ankle, knee and shoulder problems last term.
"As long as Jamie comes back in pre-season and proves his fitness he will be offered a new contract," boss Baird confirmed.
"I'm a big admirer of his."
Sam Butler and Ashley Nicholls however; both signed towards the end of last season, will not be staying with the club.
Winger Butler was offered a contract but wanted more money than the Spitfires were prepared to pay, while midfielder Nicholls was only ever viewed as an emergency signing and recently signed for fellow Blue Square Bet South side Maidenhead United. - http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/maidenheadunited/?section=clubnews&news_id=142239
