Flitney arrives
Ross Flitney |
Gillingham Goalkeeper Ross Flitney’s one month loan with Eastleigh Football Club has now been formalised following the conclusion of the necessary paperwork.
The 28 year old shot-stopper joins Richard Hill’s squad and will be eligible to play in Saturday’s league fixture away to Eastbourne Borough.
On what his latest recruit will bring to the fold, Spitfires boss Richard explained: “At our level of football everybody is looking for a quality experienced keeper. Ross has just returned from injury and with my contacts at Gillingham they have kindly agreed to help us out.”
“This arrangement will suit everyone. He has played over 200 games and has bags of experience which will help us, it suits Gillingham and this arrangement will help Jack (Dovey) who will learn lots from Ross”.
Ross started his career as a young player for Arsenal before moving to Fulham in 2003, working with senior keepers including Edwin van der Sar and Mark Crossley. With spells at Brighton, Barnet, Grays, Croydon and Dover, Ross joined the Gills in July 2011 making his debut against Cheltenham Town.
In other news Goalkeeper Lloyd Anderson has been released following his brief stay with the club.
