Ben Strevens has been appointed as Eastleigh manager following a succesful spell as interim boss. Strevens said: "After hearing the news on Friday, I can’t wait to get started now. "I’m really looking forward to the job, it’ll be a hard job but I’m really looking forward to it. “My first two games in caretaker charge, I’ll be the first to admit I wasn’t happy with the performances or the results but the boys have responded with their performances away at Halifax and then two real good results against two real good sides (Leyton Orient and Salford). “Really, it’s the boys who got me this job and opportunity, I just want to carry on the good work and keep improving.”

Ben Strevens shares his post-match thoughts after Eastleigh won 1-0 away at Chester to secure back-to-back wins: "I thought last week there were massive positives in the way that we played and in the way the shape of the team looked. We changed it up slightly, we went three at the back and today we stayed in the game for long periods." "I thought we played pretty well first half without really creating too much. I thought we were the better side and then nothing beats getting a last minute goal as well. Clean sheet - most importantly and then to get a last minute goal was brilliant." Managerial update from Eastleigh FC:- At the start of this season Eastleigh FC had high hopes of challenging for promotion. Clearly there has been far too much change for this to be achieved and the managerial changes have not had the desired affect. This is solely the fault of the Chairman who would like to apologise to all our loyal fans who deserve much better. Mistakes have been made, albeit with the best of intentions, however it has been a costly and unsettling period, which has seen the club unfortunately struggle rather than build on previous progress. With this in mind it is important the decision made regarding a replacement manager is considered and thorough. The club need more football expertise to ensure we give ourselves the best chance of future success and progression.
