Eastleigh managed to pull off another good win in the Suburban South League after their 2-0 away win over Epsom on Monday night.
It wasn't all plain sailing though. Toure Mamadouba was sent off six minutes before half time leaving his team to fight out the rest of the game with only ten players.
But if you hadn't seen the incident and known that Eastleigh were a man down, you would have thought that if any of the teams were a player short, it would have been Three Bridges! This is because Eastleigh recovered so well and got their just reward on in the second half through a Chris Hall goal.
The first half saw Eastleigh have more of the ball and their best chance came in the eighth minute when good build up play from Ben Ngwa and Adam Roberts created a chance for Chris Hall who had burst through from midfield to fire a low shot goalwards that went into the side netting.
The visitors had one or two efforts on goal but nothing that really tested Alan Walker-Harris in the Eastleigh goal.
Half Time - Eastleigh 0-0 Three Bridges
After losing Mo just before half time the Eastleigh players knew they had their work cut out for them, but they battled away and kept playing their football.
Three Bridges forced two fine saves out of Walker-Harris in quick succession. The first was a low volley that was palmed around the post and then a minute later he made a good stop to tip the ball over the cross bar to see off the pressure from the visitors.
In the 62nd minute, Eastleigh got the breakthrough. The move started off with Zach Glasspool who cleverly played the ball to Dan Smith on the left hand side and it was Smith's trickery that created the chance. He got to the byline before putting in a great delivery with his left foot and the ball was met brilliantly in the centre by Chris Hall who headered the ball home from six yards.
Another good move from the home side came in the 71st minute. A good header from Cansdale was flicked on by Ben Ngwa who managed to play his strike partner Glasspool through on goal. The young striker who recently made his first team debut, raced through on goal but the advancing keeper did enough and the shot went just wide of the post.
All in all Eastleigh deserved their win for the way they battled on to get the goal with a player short.
