Odubade departs Eastleigh, Essam moves on loan to Woking

Yemi Odubade has departed Eastleigh FC by mutual consent. The popular striker has moved on from the Spitfires after 3 years with the club.

Yemi scored 7 goals in 35 games in his first campaign for the club to help the club secure promotion from the Conference South as Champions in the 2013/2014 season.

In total Odubade, who joined Eastleigh from Gateshead, made 136 appearances scoring 22 times in the blue of Eastleigh. We wish Yemi all the best for the future and thank him for his service to the club.

In other news, defender Connor Essam has joined Woking on a 93-day loan spell.

Explaining the departures, boss Ronnie Moore said: "Connor's desperate to play football and we've told Yemi he's free to go where he wants to. It's just the way football works.

“I’ve got a decent group here and we’re two or three players away from being a real threat but, to get them, I’ve got to let some go.

"I had a meeting with six of them and they all know the position they're in. Now it's a waiting game. Some of them have refused to go to some of the clubs (that have come in for them).

"I don't want to shift too many because, you know what it's like, you'll get injuries and all of a sudden it's you out there looking for players on loan and you look a bit of a p..t!"

Yemi was a key member of the squad that secured promotion from the conference south. Having signed from Gateshead in 2013, Yemi has gone on to make 136 appearances for the club and scored 22 goals. We thank Yemi for his professionalism and for everything he has done in his 3 years at the club.

Eastleigh release one player and send another out on loan

RONNIE Moore has begun clearing the decks to make room for new player arrivals at Eastleigh. Defender Connor Essam, who joined the Spitfires from Leyton Orient during the summer, has signed for Vanarama National League rivals Woking on a 93-day loan.
