Eastleigh v Falkland Islands


The Falkland Islands football team have been given clearance to leave the Island having been delayed by the Chilean Ash cloud. They will arrive in England via Chile and Spain late on Thursday afternoon.

The match against Eastleigh therefore will take place at The BTC Sports Ground at 3pm on Friday 24th June.

Darren Waterman will be in charge of the Eastleigh side that will be selected from:

Andrew Smallpiece, Dean Faithfull, Kyle Lincoln, Tyrone Mings, Jack Vallis, David Abe, Nathan Peprah-Annan, Stuart Duff, Courtney Chinn, Joe McDonnell, Sam Wilson, Liam Hibberd, Ben Chambers, Jordan O'Donnell, Will Aimson, Joe Crook and Ben Wilson.

The Islanders are changing their onward travel arrangements to The Isle of Wight to play this fixture, citing the chance to play a game in this hemisphere before their matches in the Island Games as a much needed build up to their tournament chances.

The Falkland Islands team is made up of a mixture of local lads; additionally a couple of them are originally from St Helena and Chile. They are all part time footballers and have full time day jobs.

Their squad will be selected from Aaron Franks, Josh Peck, Michael Betts, Paul Stephenson, Daniel Biggs, Patricio Balladares, Ben Hoyles, Claudio Ross, Steve Mason, Adam Glanville, Martyn Gilson-Clark, Rafael Sotomoger, Wayne Clement, Ian Betts, Paul Joshua, George Elbakidze, William Chater, Josh Clayton, Sal Zuvic and Kyle Biggs.
