Under 18's win League Cup Final

Yesterday (Sunday) Eastleigh FC under 18's beat Christchurch under 18's in the league cup final.

The final score was 4-2 with Liam Seager opening the scoring to give Eastleigh the lead only to be pegged back to 1-1. Christchurch then had a player sent off for two bookable offenses.

The young Spitfires then took the lead before half time when Joe Chamberline hit a 25-yard shot that squeezed its way through the keeper's legs into the back the net.

The second half saw Eastleigh increase their lead through a wonder strike by Joe Chamberline, his second of the game, from just outside the box. His shot flew in to the top corner - a great goal that the keeper could not stop.

Grant Newman's left footed shot added a fourth goal for Eastleigh as the ball once again wormed its way through the keeper's leg at the near post.

Christchurch pulled a goal back with a late second, but the job was well and truly done by that point and it proved to be no more than a consolation.

This was a great result for the Eastleigh FC boys who managed to claim the Division 3 title in January. Yesterday's result saw them add to that by doing the league and cup double.

Well done to all involved.
