Post-match reaction: Eastleigh 1-1 Swindon

Ronnie Moore's post-match thoughts after Eastleigh drew 1-1 at home to Swindon in the FA Cup: “I think Swindon have got away with it – this was a game for us to have won.

“There’s no reason why we can’t go to Swindon and win the replay. We’ve got two lads – Ryan Cresswell and Joe Partington – to come back.

“The lads should hold their heads high and look forward to having another crack. But they are sitting in the dressing room with glum faces feeling as though they’ve lost the game.

“I thought the game was won when we scored. I couldn’t see Swindon scoring.

“They had a lot of possession, which we knew they would. We said ‘let them have it and we’ll press when we need to’.

“As a team we pressed well and that’s great for us because it shows how hurt they are.

“They got lucky late on with that goal line clearance, that could have won it for us.

“We’ve played a League One team here – it’s not the Dog and Duck. Okay, they’re struggling a bit at the moment but they’ve got good players.

“This was a great opportunity for us. We are Eastleigh and this is what we are all about.

“We’re a National League team and the lads can be proud about the way they went about it. We had a game plan and it worked.”
