Truro v Eastleigh - Match Preview
Match Preview by Kieran James
Ian Baird's Spitfires take on Truro City away at Treyew Road in the Blue Square Bet South on Tuesday, the fixture comes just three days after a 0-2 home defeat to Hampshire rivals Basingstoke Town.
Truro City however had a perfect start to their new Blue Square Bet South campaign with a 0-1 win away to Chelmsford.
Eastleigh however, made three new signings before the game against Basingstoke, including former nPower League 2 player Jordan Rose who won the Young Player of the Year award at Stockport County last season.
Ex-Saints' Jordace Holder-Spooner and Ryan Tafozolli have also signed for the Spitfires to boost the squad.
After winning the Zamaretto Southern Premier League last season, this will be Truro City's first time in the Blue Square Bet South so every game will be a new experience for the White Tigers.
The last time these two teams met was in the Joma South West Challenge Cup when the Spitfires won 1-2 with Jamie Slabber scoring a penalty and Staforde Palmer scoring for Eastleigh. Arran Pugh had opened the scoring for Truro City.
Truro City will have a very similar team to face Eastleigh, however the Spitfires have a new look about their squad, with only six players remaining from those involved against Truro in the Joma South West Challenge Cup in July 2010.
Martin Watts is injured for Truro in this game and Frankie Raymond (on-loan Eastleigh defender/midfielder from Reading) could also be still out and injured for the game. Ryan O'Hara pulled up with a torn hamstring against Basingstoke at the weekend having to be replaced at half time.
