Eastleigh call early-morning pitch inspection

TOMORROW'S big free-entry game between Eastleigh and Macclesfield Town is hanging in the balance. With temperatures due to plummet again tonight and a thick fog still enveloping the area, the Spitfires will hold an 8.45 pitch inspection tomorrow morning. An early decision is needed prior to Macclesfield setting off on a 400-mile round trip south.

Oscar Gobern signs for Eastleigh

Eastleigh has announced the signing of 27-year-old midfielder Oscar Gobern on a one-year deal.

Gobern, the Spitfires' first signing of the summer, came through the ranks at Southampton and played a role in helping the club win promotion from League One to the Championship.

His previous clubs also include MK Dons, Queens Park Rangers and Yeovil.

First Team manager Andy Hessenthaler commented: “I am absolutely thrilled to get this over the line.

Eastleigh sign Josh Hare

23-year-old defender Josh Hare has signed a one-year deal with Eastleigh to become Andy Hessenthaler’s second signing of the summer.

Hare was most recently at Maidstone United in the National League and has also played for Leatherhead, Eastbourne Borough, and Gillingham.

Upon signing for the Spitfires, Josh said: “I am really pleased to join Eastleigh. A major factor for me was the chance to join a full-time club. 
"Being able to concentrate on my football every day was a no-brainer.

“I am an ambitious player and the club are equally as ambitious. 
"We all want to be successful here and hopefully we can achieve our targets.

“I am a hard worker firstly and more than happy to get up and down the wing. I like to be positive and get forward as much as I can.”

Eastleigh boss Andy Hessenthaler said: “I am delighted to secure the services of Josh.

Paul Reid and Matt Tubbs return to Eastleigh

Defender Paul Reid and striker Matt Tubbs have made a return to the Silverlake Stadium on contracts until the end of the season.

Both players will be available for selection for the game against Barrow at the Silverlake Stadium on Saturday.

Richard Hill explained how the deals came about: "Reidy contacted me just talking about the current state at the club and said if there was anything he could do to help he would be more than pleased to do so.

"Having been looking in the market for players I had no hesitation in offering him a contract until the end of the season as I know he cares about this football club and will do whatever he can to change our current run of form." 

Reid has signed from Whitehawk where he has also had a spell in the managerial role this season as well as his normal central defensive duties.

Goalkeeper Graham Stack to join Eastleigh

Eastleigh Football Club is delighted to announce that former Republic of Ireland U21 goalkeeper Graham Stack will be joining the Club on 1 January as player/goalkeeping coach. Experienced ‘keeper Stack will join on an 18-month contract.
Stack started his career at Arsenal and he made five appearances for The Gunners. In a career spanning almost 300 games so far, he has since represented Beveren (Belgium), Millwall, Reading, Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanders, Plymouth Argyle, Blackpool, Hibernian, Barnet and Kerala Blasters (India).
Stack made over 125 appearances for Barnet and helped them become National League Champions in 2015, working under our current Manager Martin Allen.

Player Trials at Eastleigh FC

Eastleigh FC of the Blue Square South will be holding trials for players on Wednesday 6th June 2012. These trials will give players the opportunity to be assessed by our UEFA qualified coaching staff and give them the opportunity of representing Eastleigh FC.

Eastleigh has a pedigree for producing Football League players with Brett Williams (Reading FC) and Aaron Martin (Southampton FC) making the grade after impressing at non-league level. In the 2011/12 season we helped young players secure deals with Will Aimson, 17 and Josh Helm, 16 signing contracts with Hull City and Swindon Town.  These trials will give players the opportunity to showcase their talents and receive constructive feedback from Ian Baird and the coaching team at the club.
