2nd Team - Pre Season Friendlies
Adie and Brian's men will be in pre-season action through July and into early August.
Currently, they are all away fixtures, but it would be good for us supporters to get to as many of the below dates as possible to give the second team our encouragement.
Yes you did read it right, it would appear that, the tag of reserve team has been replaced in favour of '2nd Team'. Either way, come along when you can and take a look at the promising talent outside the first team squad!
Name change - "A Significant Step for the Future of Our Club"
*On the topic of the name change, for what was the reserves one of our familiar fans - Michael Ingram, stated just how positive this could be for the club in the long run, posting the following on the club's messageboard:
"I look forward to seeing our second team in action. I've always thought there was no decent structure in place to assist our better players to progress towards the first team.
If this is being addressed I wholeheartedly support it. Over the last 15 years I have seen stacks of players play for our "reserves" the best 12-15 of them would have been a really good team, and it's been frustrating seeing them either give up football altogether or play really well for a local rival.
What now is perhaps happening, is cause for celebration, and although it won't get banner headlines in the Echo, it could prove a very significant step for the future of our club."
