Malcolm looks ahead to Chippenham trip

Eastleigh FC press officer Malcolm Clarke looks ahead to Eastleigh's FA Trophy tie against Chippenham Town later this month:

"This will be the third cup tie between the teams following the 1984/85 FA Vase tie, which Eastleigh won 1-0 at Ten Acres (before it was called the Silverlake Stadium), and the 1997/98 FA Cup tie which Chippenham won 1-0 after a 0-0 draw at Hardenhuish Park.

"The Eastleigh team for the Chippenham replay in 1997/98 was: A Gage, D Moteane, P Morgan, D Bundy, D Goss, S Jones, D Colvin, D Byrne, B Green, A Bundy, D Fear. Subsitutes: D Jenman, S Salter, H Kemp.

"The Chippenham starting line-up for the replay was: M Batters, A Stagg, T Butler, P Steele, P Rose, N Sheridan, J Messenger. D Tapper, B Flippance, G Lewis, C Griffen.

"Malcolm recalls how Eastleigh ended up having to borrow Chippenham's second choice strip after we intially forgot our kit, and although we went back to get it, it arrived too late!

"Chippenham are believed to be the only club to have played Eastleigh in each of the FA Cup, FA Trophy and FA Vase, which they will have done after the tie has been completed."

Eastleigh will travel to Chippenham Town in the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy on Saturday 26th November 2011, 3pm kick off.
