AFC Totton v Eastleigh
Eastleigh Football Club's pre-season schedule is completed as the club is pleased to confirm the latest addition to the friendly fixtures with the Spitfires set to travel to AFC Totton's Testwood Stadium.
The fixture on Tuesday 24th July 2012 should provide a good test for Ian Baird's squad as the Evo-Stik Southern League side narrowly missed out on promotion last season.
Manager Ian Baird said: "I suspect Steve Riley's Totton will be much changed from last term as they have seen plenty of comings and going over the last few months. It is always a tough test against a side that has shown its quality in the Southern League over the last twelve months and I'm sure it will be no different this year and prove a very beneficial fixture for both clubs".
Talking about the pre-season generally Ian said: "I want to be able to see everyone get some decent pitch time so that they are all able to put forward a good case to be included in the matchday squad for the opening fixture come August".
Eastleigh will kick-off their pre-season schedule with the Family Open Day on the 14th July. Stands are still available for the event and anyone interested should contact Shauna at the club for details. The event promises to be great fun and an opportunity to see the first team train as well as enjoy the bouncy castles, stilt walkers and other attractions.
With friendly fixtures against Poole Town, North Leigh, Sholing and Winchester pre-season concludes with those mouth-watering home fixtures against Oxford United and Reading.
