STARTING LINEUPS:
1ST TEAM: Paul Musselwhite, Jason Dodd, Martin Thomas, Matt Bound, Francis Benali, Danny Smith, David Hughes, Adam James, Darren Wheeler, Andy Forbes, Dave Town

RESERVES: Wayne Shaw, Liam Winzar, Ryan Woodford, Jason Stock, Ian Oliver, Brian Dutton, Steve Forbes, Liam Green, Fouzi Mesaoudi, Jefferson Louis, Ashley Jarvis

Last night the Eastleigh first team played a training match against the reserves to try and give Andy Forbes some match practice for Saturday as he looks to recover from the injury he picked up at Bashley. However things didn't go according to plan as Forbes had to come off minutes into the game after feeling the injury again.

The game was played at a good tempo with both sides having good chances however the first team struck twice in two minutes before half time. Firstly a typical assist from Danny Smith was despatched with a cool finish from Dave Town as he lobbed the ball over the head of Wayne Shaw and then a Darren Wheeler penalty made it 2-0.

After five or so minutes into the second half the coaching staff decided it was time to move on to training drills such as corner kicks, perhaps in preparation for Saturday.

Speaking to Justin Bennett at the game last night resulted in more bad news and another setback. Having stepped up his training, the knee reacted badly, swelling up and this could possibly mean another scan is required.

There is better news thankfully, regarding Chris Collins. It is believed he is only a couple of weeks away now after positive scan results.

At this moment in time the club have a major striker crisis. Stuart Douglas is still months away from returning, and as mentioned Andy Forbes and Justin Bennett are still recovering. This leaves just Dave Town and youngster Ashley Jarvis as the only available strikers for Saturday. The only other striker is new signing Jefferson Louis, and the former Oxford man is on a three match ban just to add to manager Paul Doswell's problems.
