Wyvern Combination Football League

The opening fixtures have been released for the Wyvern Combination Football League.

The first fixtures for Eastleigh are as follows:

Saturday 20th August Bemerton Heath Harlequins Reserves away
Monday 5th September Wimborne Town Reserves home
Saturday 10th September Sholing Reserves away
Tuesday 13th September Dorchester Town Reserves away
Monday 19th September A F C Totton Reserves home
Monday 26th September Christchurch Reserves home

North Leigh 5 Eastleigh Reserves 1

It was a young Eastleigh side that visited Southern League South & West side North Leigh. In the picturesque setting of Eynsham Park, Oxford. Darren Waterman’s young charges were trailing by two goals at the interval. The home side saw Matty Taylor bag a hat trick with singles from Lee Mills and Joe Fullerton. 19-year-old Gary Fitzehorswell netted for Eastleigh, his second goal for the club since trialling from his previous club Lyndhurst. Former Southampton winger Josh Dutton-Black, who made one appearance for Eastleigh back in 2008 in a Setanta Shield Cup match at home to Weston Super Mare, was included in the North Leigh side.

The Eastleigh side at North Leigh was: Grant Blackmore, Martin Buckthorpe, Josh Green, Tim Brasseur, Luke Davies, Will Aimson (Ryan Cripps), Geoff Dunn (Reece Loxley), Jon Stevens (George Davis), Gary Fitzehorswell (Ben Rankin), Matt Gray, Chris Ralston.

Eastleigh Reserves 0 A F C Bournemouth Under 18s 2

Another very young Eastleigh side, this time under the managerial reigns of Danny Smith, took on AFC Bournemouth Under 18s at our Hardmoor Training Ground. AFC Bournemouth scored twice in the last twenty minutes to secure a victory. 

The Eastleigh side was: Mike Weatherall (Ed Hatt), Martin Buckthorpe (Jordan O’Donnell), Josh Green (Dan Wooten), Will Aimson (Ollie Maguire), Liam Hibberd, Jack Vallis (Luke Davies), Grant Newman, David Whittaker (George Davis), Tim Brasseur (Joe Chamberlain), Matt Gray, Jason Brookes.

New Milton v Eastleigh Reserves – Postponed

The scheduled fixture for the Suburban League side at New Mitlon Town for Tuesdsay 19th July was postponed as the New Milton pitch was deemed by the Council, who maintain the facility, not ready for matches to be played on by that date.

Oxford City kick off

The first team pre-season friendly on Saturday 30th July is a 2pm kick off.
