Woking 3-3 Eastleigh

Eastleigh surrendered a 3-1 half time lead and ended up having to settle for a point away at Woking as six-goals were shared in a thrilling draw.

The Spitfires are now unbeaten in nine games since Ronnie Moore took charge, but he will be disappointed his side couldn't come away with a victory from a strong position.

With skipper Ryan Cresswell (calf niggle) and midfielder Jake Howells (tight hamstring) both missing out through injury, Adam Dugdale started in defence and there was a welcome return to the starting line-up for Andy Drury.

Luke Coulson scored his fourth goal in three games to give Eastleigh a seventh-minute lead as the visitors made a bright start to the game.

Typically, it was a former Eastleigh player who equalised for Woking. Matt Tubbs, who spent time with Eastleigh on loan last season, was making his Woking debut today having joined on a month's loan from Forest Green Rovers. Tubbs scored with a glancing header in the 23rd minute to make it 1-1.

The Spitfires were soon back in front as Adam Dugdale restored Eastleigh's lead just six minutes later. It was the defender's second goal for the club as he profited from good work by Mikael Mandron to find the back of the net.

Just before half time Joe Partington added a third Eastleigh goal to put Moore's side in control at the half-way stage. Partington, skipper in Cresswell's absence, met Jai Reason's corner with a firm header to beat Michael Poke.

After the break, Woking fought back well and scored twice to ensure a share of the spoils.

Delano Sam-Yorke gave Woking a fighting chance as he bundled home with an hour played to reduce the deficit. 2-3.

Moore made two changes with the game seemingly in the balance. Adam Dawson replaced Jai Reason and Jamie Cureton came off the bench for his first Eastleigh appearance in place of James Constable.

Luke Kandi levelled the game eleven minutes from time to make it 3-3 as Eastleigh saw their 2-goal half time advantage disappear.

The game could still have gone either way in the closing stages. Woking came closest in a tense ending when Eastleigh goalkeeper Ryan Clarke made a vital intervention to bravely deny Sam-Yorke by diving at his feet to claim the ball.
