Paul Reid and Matt Tubbs return to Eastleigh

Defender Paul Reid and striker Matt Tubbs have made a return to the Silverlake Stadium on contracts until the end of the season.

Both players will be available for selection for the game against Barrow at the Silverlake Stadium on Saturday.

Richard Hill explained how the deals came about: "Reidy contacted me just talking about the current state at the club and said if there was anything he could do to help he would be more than pleased to do so.

"Having been looking in the market for players I had no hesitation in offering him a contract until the end of the season as I know he cares about this football club and will do whatever he can to change our current run of form."

Reid has signed from Whitehawk where he has also had a spell in the managerial role this season as well as his normal central defensive duties.

Speaking about Tubbs re-joining Eastleigh, Hill commented: "I appreciate Matt Tubbs was not the most popular player with supporters when he was here last season. Even though I was not connected with the club, I heard supposed figures and it was evident that Tubbs was being judged arriving at the club with a big weight on his shoulders. By his own admission he did not fulfil expectations."

"It was Tubbs who contacted Craig McAllister, who were team-mates until the last couple of weeks at Sutton United, again offering any help he could and again has signed until the end of the season as he said he has unfinished business at the club."
