Blue Square Bet South

Kidderminster Harriers manager Steve Burr has been named the Blue Square Bet Premier ‘manager of the month’ for December. Three wins from three matches in the league and progress to the next round of the FA Trophy sealed a great month for Burr and his team. A maximum haul of nine points keeps them right in the race for a ‘top 5’ finish in the table and a spot in the play-offs. Burr’s side are unbeaten in the league since late October and started their December fixtures with a 4-1 home win over Bath City. Then an impressive 3-2 win at promotion rivals York City was consolidated with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Forest Green Rovers on Boxing Day. Kidderminster went through to the second round of the FA Trophy with a win over Vauxhall Motors in a replay at Aggborough after a thrilling 4-4 draw on Merseyside.

The Blue Square Bet North ‘manager of the month’ for December is Steve Kittrick from Guiseley. Kittrick’s side completed the month with a 100% record of 5 wins in 5 matches including a haul of 12 points in the league and progress to the second round of the FA Trophy. They rounded the month off with a 4-0 win at Yorkshire rivals Harrogate Town on Boxing Day – a result which took them to third in the table.

The Blue Square Bet South ‘manager of the month’ for December is Garry Hill from Woking. Hill led the Cards to top spot in the table in late September and they have remained there ever since, their 4-2 win at Bromley on the 20th taking them to the summit. December was their third unbeaten month on the bounce in the league and their fourth out of five since the season began. Their 3-2 win at promotion rivals Dartford was the highlight of the period although Woking fans may have enjoyed the Boxing Day win over local rivals Farnborough even more. That victory put them 12 points clear in the table and they are now quoted as the 1/7 favourites with the league sponsors to be crowned champions!

IN DEMAND MATT MAKES IT A HARRIERS DECEMBER DOUBLE

Jamille Matt from Kidderminster Harriers has been named the Blue Square Bet Premier ‘player of the month’ for December. The young forward has caught the eye of Football League clubs this season and has increased that attention with a fantastic December for his side. Matt has scored five goals in five appearances including a brace against Bath City in a 4-1 home win. He also scored Kidderminster’s third goal at York City in a 3-2 win over their promotion rivals – a fantastic solo effort in front of the TV cameras. Jamille’s award makes it a December double for the Harriers after boss Steve Burr took the manager honours for the period.

The Blue Square Bet North ‘player of the month’ for December is Wesley York from Nuneaton Town. The 18-year-old forward made his debut for Nuneaton at Harrogate Town in November and has gone on to make eleven appearances as a regular fixture in the side. York had a fantastic December starting with a goal and a hat-trick of assists in his side’s 5-0 win at Eastwood Town. He bagged a goal at Gloucester City in the following game and contributed with two more assists during the period. The Blue Square Bet South ‘player of the month’ for December is Alan Inns from Woking. The experienced centre-back helped his side to another unbeaten month at the top of the table and also contributed with the opening goal in their important 3-2 win at promotion rivals Dartford. The former AFC Wimbledon defender was also part of a defence that kept clean sheets at home to Eastleigh and local rivals Farnborough during the period. Alan’s award makes it a December double for Woking after boss Garry Hill took the managerial honours for the month.
