Hampshire Youth League Side

The Hampshire Youth League side started their competitive season on Sunday with a Hampshire County League Division Three home fixture against New Milton.

Starting slowly Eastleigh found themselves a goal behind via the penalty spot after goalkeeper Josh Helm received a caution for his challenge inside the area. The game itself was not a spectacle with several stoppages for offences; Liam Seager also joining Helm in the referee’s notebook.

Eastleigh did pull level though two minutes before the interval with Grant Newham scoring by making the most of a defensive error.

With all three substitutions being made, Eastleigh grabbed goals from Chukuma Dibigbo and Liam Seager to give Eastleigh a two-goal advantage. Despite a late flurry of attacks from New Milton, Eastleigh held on for their opening day victory.

Team: Josh Helm, Ryan Holloway, Sam Simmons, Dominic Mollicone (Will Harris), Dan Wooton (Rob Payne), Dillon Smith, Ben Coverdale, David Whittaker, Grant Newham (Elliott Braund), Chukuma Dibigbo, Liam Seager.
