Spitfires rue missed chances at Sutton
Eastleigh boss Ian Baird felt gutted for his players after last night’s 2-0 defeat at Sutton United.
In Baird’s eyes, the Spitfires created more than enough chances to have beaten the high-riding Surrey side.
But it was the fourth-placed Us – managed by ex-Eastleigh boss Paul Doswell – who claimed three precious Blue Square Bet South points courtesy of a Jamie Brown own goal and a smart finish from former Spitfire Tony Taggart.
“Considering the possession we had and the openings we created, we did more than enough to win the game, but we missed a hatful of chances,” said Baird."I'm more disappointed for the lads than anything."
